Over the last 4 weeks, eight law students joined for a vacation scheme following our ‘Beyond corporate law: how to become a serious injury lawyer’ event with Legal Cheek.
During their time with us, they have had the opportunity to part of the Fletchers ethos and each week gained experience working in each of our departments. We caught up with Monica Davis, who joined us from London for the month, and she told us how her time at Fletchers has been.
“I chose to do a placement at Fletchers because of the interesting work involved and I have not been disappointed. The vac scheme has given me a great insight into personal injury from varying perspectives including road traffic accidents, serious injury and medical negligence. I’ve also learned a lot about costs and how law firms are run which has been an invaluable experience in itself.”
The students have spent a week within each of our core areas and our costs department, learning how cases are run, the importance of client care and what being a part of the Fletchers team is like. Zoe Sheridan, a third-year law student at the University of Liverpool, also told us what her experience has been like at Fletchers.
“I’ve had a fantastic experience at Fletchers. Each team have been so helpful and friendly and it has encouraged me to work even harder in my final year at university to pursue my career aspirations of being a solicitor. The firm has opened my eyes to different areas of law I would not have considered before this placement so I would like to thank you. It has been both full of useful information and genuinely interesting. Every day has been full of new experiences.”
