Orthopaedic Group Actions

Vincent's Story: Hearing for the first time following misdiagnosis

Over the last five years, there has been a substantial rise in the number of patients undergoing hip and knee operations in the UK. Unfortunately, we have also seen a rise in negligence surgery claims that coincides with this development. When revision surgery is needed, this can result in more complications arising and poorer outcomes.

Common features of surgery complications include:

  • Chronic pain

  • Dislocation

  • Nerve injury

  • Early revision

As a result, we have brought together a team of specialist solicitors to handle all Orthopaedic Group Actions; supporting patients who have been affected by a select group of surgeons.

Colchester Surgeon Suspended

Following concerns relating to his surgical procedures, a specialist orthopaedic surgeon formally based at Colchester Hospital, has been suspended. Mr Jeremy Parker specialised in hip and knee surgery, and also practised at the Oaks Hospital. He no longer works at either hospital following his suspension order in July 2019.

The last hearing was in January 2021 which allowed him to practice under supervision; but at present his whereabouts are not known.

We are representing a substantial group of patients who have been treated by Mr Parker, and are accepting further claims.

The Medical Negligence Team

Following a series of instructions from patients who have been affected by Mr Parker, we are in the process of developing a Support Group to help signpost those impacted; as well as handling the legal side of their affairs.

The team dealing with these cases are led by the following:
